Steward Health Care is seeking a board certified Sleep Medicine Physician to join St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center’s Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The physician will serve as the medical center’s primary sleep medicine clinician in addition to directing the sleep lab. This is a unique leadership opportunity which will provide a qualified physician the chance to promote and grow sleep medicine both at St. Elizabeth’s as well as other locations in the network.
The St. Elizabeth’s Center for Sleep Medicine is a 3-bed, American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited facility offering in-lab studies (PSG, titrations including iVAPS, MSLT, MWT) and home sleep apnea testing. The ideal candidate will be able to provide comprehensive care to patients with sleep disordered breathing, insomnia, hypersomnia, parasomnia and movement disorders, among others.
Beyond sleep medicine, candidates must be board certified in both pulmonary and critical care medicine. A portion of the responsibilities will include coverage of the medical ICU service and inpatient pulmonary service thus the position is best suited for someone with broad interests and capabilities. St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, an academic teaching hospital and a major affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, provides a full array of treatments and care for our patients and offers everything from basic pulmonary function tests to the most advanced interventional procedures. Physician candidates should be comfortable and flexible in providing care across multiple settings and locations, including outpatient clinic, the ICU, inpatient pulmonary care and eICU.
Additionally, the position also includes clinician-educator responsibilities with opportunities to teach and mentor fellows, residents and students. The ideal candidate will be suitable for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and will have demonstrated a track record of excellence in patient care as well as experience as an educator in academic settings.
