Easton Hospital, a Steward Family Hospital, is seeking a skilled pathologist with preferred hematopathology background, superior communication skills, and leadership experience to serve as Chairman of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in Easton, PA. Join one other Pathologist in group that has been in place with the Department of Pathology at Easton Hospital since 1983.
The Chairman of the Department is a visible position with service on multiple committees such as the Tissue Committee, Blood Utilization, Institutional Review Board and the Executive Committee. This provides collegial contact with other physicians as well as the hospital administration. Frequent personal and professional interactions with the Clinical Laboratory Director, Laboratory Technical Staff and Clinicians are common to this practice.
Applicants must hold and MD or DO Degree, be Board Certified in Anatomic or Clinical Pathology and have or be eligible for an unrestricted Pennsylvania license. The applicant be have a minimum of 6-7 years of clinical experience, be comfortable with a broad range of surgical pathology cases, Non-GYN cytopathology performance, and interpretation of bone marrow biopsies. The candidate will have a targeted start date of September 24, 2018.

The Anatomic Division performs about 5500 surgical procedures a year split between the two pathologists. The clinical laboratory at Easton Hospital performs over 1.5 million tests per year. The Chairman will be responsible for the entire clinical laboratory.
The city of Easton is in the Lehigh Valley at the borderline of New Jersey. Lafayette College is located in Easton with Lehigh University, Muhlenberg College and Moravian College in the neighboring cities of Allentown and Bethlehem. Easton is conveniently located and within close proximity to New York City, Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore.
